Top 10 Questions To Ask A school DJ
There are certain questions that come up over and over again. I've
posted these top 10 questions to ask a DJ list for you convenience. This
will provide you with basic information about me and also give you some
ideas of questions to ask other DJs before you decide who to hire. I
hope this page is helpful to you.
- Is your music clean enough for our kids to listen to?
Yes, my edits are the same edits that get played on the radio. I
also have even more strict standards for elementary and Jr. High
School dances.
- How much is this going to cost?
Look at my event pages for specific prices. The prices are
based on how much work is involved in providing services. Extra
charges apply for dances with over 200 students.
- What are my payment options?
I serve school events on good faith and do not require a deposit to
reserve the date. Schools usually have to add me as a vendor and pay
me through that system. On some rare occasions where my payment is based
on the dances attendance, I accept cash.
- Can I choose from a song list?
Yes. I have over 20,000 individual tracks in my library and
that includes Latin, Italian, Rock, Blues, Swing, Hip Hop, Pop, Rhythm
and Blues, Ballroom and lots of others. I will balance the particular
songs that you list with the musical tastes of the crowd to make sure
that your students enjoy your event.
- Are you insured?
I have a $1,000,000 liability insurance
plan from Fireman's Fund Insurance Co. I can provide documentation of
my insurance policy at your request.

I have a complete backup system with me at every event. In
the event o an equipment failure, I will engage my backup system.
- Do you need a table and/or table cloth?
No, I have my own table and tablecloth. However, if you are trying to achieve a particular theme for your dance, you should seriously consider providing the table to ensure that my area matches your theme.
- How long have you been a Disc Jockey?
I entered the mobile entertainment industry in the late 1990s.
I have worked as a DJ, a DJ's assistant, a dancer, and a private dance
instructor. I founded my own company in January 2006.
- Can you make announcements?
I can make any announcements that you need me to make. If
you prefer, I can provide a microphone for someone else to use for
making announcements.
- When will you show up?
It takes me about an hour to setup. I can set my lighting
system up in another half hour.
